A Day Away

It's amazing what just a few hours away from home can do for one's outlook on things. We took off to the Marriott just 20 minutes from our flat for 2 days of swimming and a night in their king sized bed and the use of their wonderful shower (great pressure and plenty of hot water)... and everything seems manageable once again :)

Of course we realize that God is in control of everything in our lives, but there are indeed those times when you just need to get away from the day-to-day to get things back into perspective... While reading "In a Pit With a Lion on a Snowy Day" there's a line that states "Don't let what's wrong with you keep you from worshiping what's right with God". Wow! Now, that's what serving our Creator is all about.... and that's exactly what He longs for us to come to understand... He accepts us as we are... we don't have to clean up before coming to Him... we just need to come just as we are!

Amen, amen, amen. Seeing your blog made me tear up missing you guys, but how sweet to connect via the internet with my faraway brother and sister. So glad you got a little bit of luxury. GOD BLESS YOU GUYS. Someday we can worship together again!

I really like your comments on true worship - that's cool Trent. Glad you enjoyed the hotel and especially the water park.

Janet... we miss all you guys too... God has been so great in setting us in a community of believes... We praise God for this opportunity to be here.

Mark... yeah... that was good... and it's so true... there's those things in our lives that we think... "ah, once I've cleaned this area of my life up I'll come to God" ... but that's completely backwards... He's waiting for us to come to Him and He'll work those things out of our lives.

Hey it's Stacey! Pat gave me your blog. My blog is rockinchildrensministry.blogspot.com. I was at a small conference with Erwin McManus and Mark Batterson was there. I just read his book "In a Pit..." It's a great read as I am sure you would agree! Wow, it is amazing to read what you and your family are up to. Take care, God bless!
