We're Still Alive

It's so hard to believe that it's already been a month since the last posting... and still... I think ok... what should I put out here now... that we're just busy with the daily life here... or go into some details of "what" what daily business has been?

It's funny... the memory of Germany seems like so long ago... and as soon as we got back I was right into the middle of the second week of World Civilizations II and American Politics... combined these two have given me plenty to read every week... with the weekly discussion questions and the occasional term paper for each... with another paper due this week in the politics course...

Last weekend we had 6 2nd graders over for Mia's birthday party... with 4 of those girls spending the night... the girls had a great time with the hamsters... oh yeah... we've lost two of our male hamsters to their own ability to attack each other... one was killed about a week before Mia's birthday and the other was injured to the point that he couldn't be saved... so I had to have him put to sleep... on Mia's actual birthday. This poor guy just happened to be the one she received last year for her birthday... so he did pretty good to live more than a year with us.... it was his own pup that bit him with the fatal wound...

The candidate that the church board selected came to town... preached for two weeks... met with as many people as he had time for in 9 days in town... had a town hall style meeting with the congregation to answer questions... went back to the states... with the church body giving a vote a approval for Steve Flora ... and him accepting the position a few days later... so the search for a senior pastor is over. Praise God.

Last I heard from Dad, Mom was back in the hospital with a lingering infection from her surgery plus the pneumonia they thought she had was actually a blood clot in her lung... so now she's on blood thinners... I'm not sure how they could confuse pneumonia with a blood clot...

This weekend was a nice relaxing three day weekend... spent right here in town... Thursday night was exam preps... then the exam itself for politics... Friday was reading history stuff... then Saturday was the review for history ... and then the exam itself... and today... ah yes... more reading... two chapters in politics... and I've still got 2 more chapters to read... in each course :-) ah yes... piece milling the degree just seems to go on and on... I did just have a credit review by the college and it's looking like I'm 8 courses from the degree... and if they'll take the 3 credits from the diving courses (which I just submitted that transcript too) ... now we're down to 7 courses... thank you God for keeping this process moving along.

Ah... last night we did have some family time in front of the tube... watching AI with the Hollywood Hell-Week and then the picking of the top 24... it's been weeks now since we've watched any Idol... so it was nice to just veg for a while. Well... Blessing to all
